Kingman Lake
Restoration Design

DOEE is currently working on an early aquatic habitat restoration project in Kingman Lake that will align with the goals of the Anacostia River Corridor Restoration Plan enhance resiliency, improve water quality, restore habitat, and enhance public access and recreation opportunities. DOEE and partners will be designing and implementing restoration projects for the lake, including: tidal wetland restoration, living shorelines, submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) restoration, freshwater mussel restoration, and deepwater refugia for fish and other aquatic species. Funding for this project is provided through a National Fish & Wildlife Foundation Chesapeake Small Watershed Grant.
